Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging period, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in particular - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.
Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first championship following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court from that period of the previous year.
Victory also indicates he has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one different competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
His retrieving strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had led observers to question if his skill to compete at the top level was finished.
However the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an improved serving game.
He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a decider.
The opponent defended 4 initial chances in a close final set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after a lengthy match.
